Darryl Lewis, a graduate of Florida A&M University majoring in Public Relations, is a resident of Gainesville, Florida. Before transferring to FAMU in the Spring of 2019, Lewis attended school at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida, and Tallahassee Community College in Tallahassee, Florida. Lewis has been an Honor Student on the Dean's List at FAMU since the Spring of 2019. During his time at FAMU, Lewis has been involved in organizations on campus, such as the Transfer Student Association, an organization created to help incoming transfer students connect with other transfer students on campus, where he served as a member of the Executive Board as the Public Relations Chair for the 20-21 school year and has worked with the Transfer Academic Success Program as a transfer peer mentor. Lewis is also a member of the Big Brother Little Brother Mentoring Program. This mentoring organization pairs upper-level students with first- and second-year students to help orient and mentor them as they navigate campus. Lewis was also a part of the student-facilitated radio station at FAMU, WAMN 90.5, "The Flava Station. Lewis, also known on-air as "Delux Combo," had an on-air show every Wednesday from 7 – 10 pm called "Delux Power Jams." In addition, Lewis was also an Executive Staff of the radio station as the Program Director, overseeing the formation and selection of all the station's content, and also served as Production Manager, producing Public Service Announcements and Drops. Lewis has interned with Trimmel Gomes at Gomes Media Strategies in Tallahassee, Florida. At GMS, Lewis served as a social media and communication intern, where he maintained GMS's social media page and created graphics to promote Gomes’s political podcast, "The Rotunda." Lewis was an office assistant in the Vice President’s Office for Finance and Administration. Lewis’s leadership abilities are highlighted in the 2022 student-run PR Agency at Florida A&M University SJGC, where he serves as the account executive for agency client Journey Magazine while learning the ins and outs of working for a public relations firm. Lewis is an administrative assistant for the School of Allied Health Sciences Division of Health Care Management at FAMU. He is also a part of the School of Allied Health Communications team, where he assists in various writing and graphic design assignments.
